Jordan A. McDonald, class of 2018, The Edge of Glory
I titled this photo on “The Edge of Glory” because the girl in my photo is riding the edge of the pool. This picture captures the action and intensity of the skater. This is a picture of a girl skating in a pool and is grinding the lip. I used Photoshop to maker the image black and white. I like this photo because I got to go to the skate parks and take a picture of a girl skater and usually it is rare to see so I took the opportunity so capture her skills in action. I believe this is a successful photograph because it’s cool and edgy and to me I believe it is pretty rare. As an Artist I would describe myself as action photographer because I like to capture things in motion. I also have a good eye in finding good angles to shoot a photo. This year I have learned the basics in controlling a camera and its settings to take different types of pictures. I also learned how to edit photos on Photoshop and create cool pictures like HDR photos etc. I am looking forward to learning more complex setting on the camera to take higher quality photos and gaining more knowledge about the different ways Photoshop can help me edit my photos to make them look more professional.
